Welcome to Canyon Ridge

Family-run since 1987, a little wilder every year.

The Alvarez family opened Canyon Ridge with eleven tent pads and a hand-painted sign. Today it is two campgrounds on opposite sides of the canyon, joined by Canyon Ridge Road and about a hundred years of red sandstone. Harbor is the busy, splashy side with the marina and the beach. West is the quiet side, up on the rim, where the sunsets are and the trails start.

Same family, same office, same s'mores at the camp store. Pick the side that suits your trip, or do what a lot of our regulars do and spend a few nights on each.

Paddle the reservoir

Rent a kayak, paddleboard or pontoon at the marina and explore six miles of quiet, no-wake coves.

Harbor

Red Ledge Trail

On new-moon Saturdays in summer, our volunteer astronomers set up telescopes at Sunset Point. Everyone's welcome.

West

Swim beach

Getting here

High in the foothills, an easy drive from Denver.

Take Canyon Ridge Road west out of Ridgeville. The road splits at the reservoir: keep right for Harbor Campground on the east shore, or left and up the switchbacks to West Campground on the rim. The road is paved the whole way and fine for big rigs.

Questions campers ask

How do I book a site?

Click any "Book" button on this page. It opens our online reservation system, powered by iCampNow, where you can pick your dates, look at the site map, and book and pay in one go. Prefer the phone? Call the office during business hours.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is by 11 am. Late arrival? No problem. We'll leave your site details and gate code at the after-hours board by the office.

Can I change or cancel my reservation?

Yes. Cancel up to 7 days before arrival for a full refund, less a $10 fee. Within 7 days, the first night isn't refundable. You can see your bookings any time under "My Bookings" in the reservation system.

Are dogs welcome?

Absolutely. Up to two well-behaved dogs per site, on a leash, at both campgrounds. Dogs aren't allowed in the cabins or on the swim beach. There's an off-leash dog run behind the Harbor bathhouse.

Can I have a campfire?

Usually, yes, in the fire ring at your site. Fire restrictions sometimes apply in late summer. We'll email you before your stay if they do. Firewood is sold at both campgrounds; please don't bring your own.

Is there Wi-Fi and cell service?

There's free Wi-Fi at the Harbor camp store and the West bathhouse. Cell coverage is good at Harbor and patchy on the rim at West. Some guests say that's the best part.
